Close Enough to Kiss

grantham-babywearing-photographer-familyAfter a week of rain, the day dawned chilly….and sunny! Hooray! I was very happy indeed when I saw the sun come out from behind those clouds, because that meant that I wouldn’t have to cancel my session with these two lovely ladies, and, well, it was a nice day for a walk through a park, so win-win!

I confess I had not been to the location we had chosen, I selected it randomly from Google Maps because it had a nice looking lake, so I go there a bit early, had to ask directions to three different people (I know, I know), decided to take a ‘shortcut’ through the trees rather than follow the path, ended up in mud (again, I know), but finally made it to the lake.

The sun was setting, the light was gorgeous, and I began scouting for nice places for our session. Apparently, you can fish in this lake and the sign warning people of the dangers of fish theft, fish eating, and fish killing was one of the most original I have seen in the three countries I have lived in. I regret not snapping a picture (next time though, I promise).

When my brave subjects arrived on the scene we got straight to action, even though little Vivienne was a bit shy of me and my big scary camera, so we had to improvise with some swinging up and down, jumping and a wonderful rendition of ‘Wind the Bobbin Up’ by mum! Not to mention the assistance of a little snuggly bunny which I may or may not have wanted to take home with me!

It was so wonderful to meet you both!
