10 Gift Ideas for Lincolnshire Families | Shop Local

Are you stuck for gift ideas this Christmas? So am I! I know a lot of us mums are struggling to just do it all this year, wondering what to get our littles, and everyone else on the long, never-ending list of people that seems to just keep multiplying year after year – all whilst we are drowning in S T U F F .
I recently read an article somewhere on Facebook, about giving the gift of experiences this year. It was like someone just hit me in the head with a lightbulb! So this year, my idea was to give the girls two little gifts that they desire, and the rest to give them an EXPERIENCE – something we can do together, that we can look back on and enjoy reminiscing about as they get older.
With that in mind, and with my aim to support other local small businesses, here are ten gift ideas for Lincolnshire families to give, not only their children, but their friends and other family. All of these are local businesses, so a little support will go a long way!
10. The Gift of Music from Caterpillar Music
If you have a child 5 or under, or know someone who does, why not gift them a music class. Anna’s classes are fun and interactive and held in some amazing places – ever popular are her intergenerational classes which she holds around the county. Anna is currently offering a Christmas special which includes not only a gift of classes, but a cute little puppet, so the child has something fun to unwrap on Christmas! Visit Anna’s Facebook page here, and drop her a line.
9. The Gift of Massage from Baby & Me
If you have a friend who is expecting (or not!), Hayley from Baby & Me is offering gift vouchers for a variety of treatments. Her massages are suitable for bump, baby and beyond, and there is certain to be an option for everyone. Plus, who can say no to a relaxing moment of peace! For more information and to buy a voucher, you can visit Hayley’s website here.
8. The Gift of Reflexology from Amy Williams Reflexologist
This on is kind of personal, because I have gone to Amy many a time for reflexology treatments, and I always come out feeling amazing! Reflexology is good for people of all ages. Amy is offering gift vouchers for treatments and foot readings. You can find more information, or contact Amy here.
7. The Gift of Baby Massage or Yoga from Precious Moments
This is another one I am sharing from personal experience. I have done both baby massage and yoga with Liz and have seen some pretty amazing results! My littlest was very colicky and the colic sequence worked miracles! And if your friends have older children, Liz also offers toddler, preschool and school age yoga classes. For more information on how to get a voucher for a term of classes, you can visit the Precious Moments website here.
6. The Gift of Swimming Lessons from Dinky Dolphins
Swimming is a life skill, and something we all should learn. For littles, it is also a great moment for bonding by doing an activity together. Dinky Dolphins has lessons around Lincolnshire and are selling gift vouchers for Christmas this year. You can buy one by contacting them here.
5. The Gift of a Photoshoot with Life: Lived Photography
You didn’t think that I wouldn’t try and put my hand up here at least once, did you? I also sell gift vouchers for a variety of things, including family, newborn, or pet sessions, or beginner photography courses. You can contact me here for more information!
4. The Gift of Being Outdoors
You can also get the gift of a yearly pass from the National Trust – we have the incredible Belton House just on our doorstep and the kids and I have spent many an incredible day outside, playing in the children’s play area, going on the train (current favourite) or just walking the grounds and having a picnic! Not to mention you can use the pass at other locations across the country, so you really can’t go wrong with this one!
Okay, so maybe not all of these are experiences per se, but they are personalised gifts and are incredible to give as a little something.
3. Personalised Gifts from Honeysuckle Barn
Sharon makes personalised Christmas Eve plates, tree decor, watch stands and much more, all made by hand. To have a look at what she makes, and to enquire about having a personalised item made in time for Christmas, contact Sharon here.
2. A Gift Box from Apples and Pips
Hannah is a pretty incredible lady. She runs Apples and Pips among her many pursuits and sells some incredible self care kits. But not only that – she has special boxes for families undergoing IVF, expecting a new baby, mums struggling to survive said new baby, entrepreneurs needing motivation, and everyone in between. What’s more, part of the proceeds go to charity for every single sale. So why not give this gift and do some good as well? You can browse her online store here.
1. A Beautiful Handmade Decoration from Keely’s Personalised Gifts
Keely hand makes all her beautiful plaques, decorations and more. She still has some availability for Christmas, so I suggest getting in there quick. You can take a look at her stock here, or write her to enquire about having something made for your special someone.
I really hope you have enjoyed this little post and it has given you some ideas, and most importantly, remember to enjoy your TIME with your family this Christmas, because that is the most precious gift of all.
